Why this page exists
When you trust RingsToday with a purchase that will outlast most furniture in the room it sits in, you should know who keeps us honest. This page lists the trade bodies that vouch for us, and what each membership actually obligates us to do.
Jewelers Board of Trade (JBT)
RingsToday is a vetted Retail Member of The Jewelers Board of Trade, a non-profit trade association founded in 1884 that maintains the industry-standard credit register for jewelry wholesalers, manufacturers, and repair shops across the United States, Canada, and worldwide.
Retail membership is not automatic — every applicant is independently vetted and approved by JBT before the membership badge can be displayed. Our membership is reviewed annually. Verify our current status on jewelersboard.com →
What JBT membership means for you
- Pre-screened suppliers. Before we place an order with any wholesale vendor — diamond cutter, mounting house, refiner, casting shop — we review their JBT credit rating, payment history, collection claims, principal background, and method of operation. - Independent escalation path. If you believe a vendor in our supply chain has acted inappropriately, you can raise it directly with JBT’s membership office at membership@jewelersboard.com or 401-467-0055. JBT is an industry body, not our agent.
- Confidentiality runs both ways. JBT credit data is supplied to us in confidence under JBT Bylaws Article V §§3 and 8. We never republish, resell, or otherwise share JBT reports, ratings, trade payment data, or the JBT Reference Book with anyone outside our concierge staff. Our internal handling rules are summarized in our Terms of Service §22.
- Logo use is licensed, not decorative. The JBT Retail Member badge in our footer is displayed under JBT’s standard Logo Use Agreement. It indicates membership only — not endorsement of any specific product, price, or representation made by RingsToday.
Other industry standards we follow
RingsToday also operates in accordance with the FTC Guides for the Jewelry, Precious Metals, and Pewter Industries (16 CFR Part 23), the Kimberley Process and the World Diamond Council System of Warranties for natural diamonds, the Responsible Jewellery Council Code of Practices where applicable to our refiners, and the grading standards published by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
